Center is a thriving community of nearly 700 friendly residents. It is also the home of many people associated with the area’s large coal mining and electrical power generating companies. The only city in Oliver County, Center is located 35 miles from the Bismarck-Mandan area and 35 miles from the Garrison Dam and beautiful Lake Sakakawea.

And, as noted above Lake Sakakawea with its 1,600 miles of shoreline and endless possibilities is only 35 minutes away.
